Everything changed for Ronald, a 62-year-old from Kill Devil Hills, when he was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
As treatment became his full-time focus, Ronald was unable to work — but his household bills didn’t pause.
While he pursued longer-term resources, the immediate financial strain continued to grow.
The Cowell Cancer Center referred Ronald to the Outer Banks Relief Foundation where he applied for relief funding.
Assistance with essential household expenses provided him and his family with much-needed stability during a frightening time.
Ronald’s generosity stands out, too. After his bills were paid and a balance remained, he asked that it be used to help out another family.
