Demand for Relief is Rising

Requests for relief funding are at an all-time high at the Outer Banks Relief Foundation.

In 2023, we supported an average of 11 families each month. Last year, that number grew to 15 families per month. This year, we’re already assisting 18 families per month — a record level of need in our community.

Why the increase?
We believe there are two key reasons:

  • Stronger outreach: Investments in radio and digital advertising, closer connections with referral partners, a greater presence at community events, and improved social media have raised awareness and helped more neighbors find the support they need.
  • Continued connection: We’ve encouraged families facing longer-term challenges to return when new financial hardships arise — ensuring no one slips through the cracks.

Meeting this surge in assistance is only possible because of your generosity. Thank you for being extraordinary partners in ensuring that no one in our community faces tragedy alone.
