At the age of 32, Roxanne never imagined her life upended by a dangerous heart condition and the frightening possibility of cancer. A devoted and hardworking single mother, Roxanne’s priorities are raising her 4-year-old daughter and giving back to her community.
But when her diagnosis brought overwhelming medical bills and the added burden of traveling long distances for specialized care, Roxanne’s strength was put to the test. That’s when she reached out to the Outer Banks Relief Foundation.
With her rent, utilities, car payment, and insurance taken care of, she could focus on what mattered most: her health and her daughter.
Roxanne told us, “Asking for help isn’t easy, but the Outer Banks Relief Foundation made me feel cared for, not judged. Your kindness truly changed my story.”
Today, Roxanne is able to manage her heart condition, she is cancer-free, and she continues to work hard and be the amazing mother her little girl looks up to every day. Her story is one of resilience, hope, and the healing power of a community that cares.
